Accused Helicopter Thief Arrested in Napa Hobby-Shop Caper

Kamehameha Quitugua, 33, was jailed Saturday on suspicion of burglary, giving a false ID and other charges in the reported theft of a remote-controlled helicopter from a Napa hobby shop, police said. Arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

 

A 33-year-old Fairfield man was arrested Saturday afternoon following a complaint from a Napa hobby shop that he had stolen a remote-controlled helicopter, according to a shift activity log from the :

NPD Officers responded to a theft that had just occurred at retail store at 820 Third St.

Store staff advised the suspect had stolen a remote control helicopter and fled in a vehicle from the store. 

The staff were able to provide a suspect and vehicle description, including the license plate.

Napa Central Dispatch coordinated the response including alerting . 

A deputy located the vehicle driving southbound on Highway 221 at Napa Valley Corporate Dr.  

The suspect had the stolen property with him in the vehicle and was identified as the suspect who stole the items. 

The suspect provided a false name, but was later identified through his identification as Kamehameha Quitugua (33 yrs) of Fairfield. 

Quitugua was booked at the  on suspicion of felony burglary, felony possession of stolen property and giving false identification to a peace officer, according to the police report.

Arrest information does not indicate a conviction.
