Alleged DUI Motorist Arrested by St. Helena Police

After another driver reported seeing a Toyota 4-Runner swerving on and off the roadway and almost hitting a pedestrian in Calistoga, St. Helena police caught up with the man at Deer Park Road, according to a media bulletin.

A Sunday driver from San Leandro was arrested by St. Helena police and booked at the Napa County Department of Corrections on suspicion of felony driving under the influence with a blood alcohol count greater than .08, according to a media bulletin from the St. Helena Police Department (editor's notes in italic): 

Officer initiated activity at Sr 29/Deer Park Rd, Napa County. 16:20 BOL (be on the lookout) for gold Toyota 4-Runner with back window down.

R/P (person who made the report) had been been behind this vehicle from Lake County, turned onto Mora St. in Calistoga almost hitting a pedestrian, completely off the road several times.

David E. Stevens, 43, of San Leandro was pulled over at about 4:30 p.m., 10 minutes after police received the "be on the lookout" call, according to the bulletin.

Stevens's bail was set at $100,000, according to the Napa County booking report.
