The Napa County Sheriff's Office on Monday identified two people killed in recent crashes in the county, including one that occurred over the weekend north of Yountville.

The victim of that crash, Andrea Wolf, 70, of St. Helena, was severely injured when her 2009 Subaru went off of the eastern edge of Silverado Trail north of Oakville Cross Road shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday.

The car struck a culvert, rolled multiple times and landed on its wheels in a vineyard east of Silverado Trail, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Wolf, who was alone in the car, was wearing her seat belt, CHP officials said.

She was taken to Queen of the Valley Medical Center, where she was
pronounced dead at 8:22 p.m. Saturday, sheriff's Capt. Tracey Stuart said. An
autopsy was scheduled for Monday.

Neither alcohol nor drug impairment appear to have played a role in the crash, according to the CHP.

The sheriff's office also identified a man who died when his 1995 Toyota Camry crashed on southbound state Highway 29 last week as 25-year-old
Vallejo resident George Herbert Hale III.

That crash happened north of South Kelly Road near American Canyon
at about 4:45 a.m. on Aug. 4 when the Toyota left the west side of the roadway, struck a parked car and caught fire.

Hale's body was badly burned in the crash and dental records were used to confirm his identity, Stuart said.

Stuart said Hale's death was caused by burns, not injuries from the impact of the crash. An obituary for Hale, a graduate of Justin Siena High School in Napa, was posted today in the Vallejo Times Herald.

A 70-year-old woman was killed just before 7 p.m. Saturday in a crash on Silverado Trail north of Oakville Cross Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP Sgt. Aaron Rohner said the woman, whose identity was not released pending notification of next of kin, was killed when the car she was driving northbound on Silverado Trail veered off the right-hand shoulder, struck a concrete culvert, overturned several times and came to rest in a vineyard to the east of the roadway.

She was transported by AMR ambulance to Queen of the Valley Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, Rohner said.

Rohner said the woman was alone in the car, a 2009 Subaru, and was wearing a seatbelt. He had no word on why the car left the roadway. He said there was no indication that drugs or alcohol were a factor.

The accident is under investigation he said.
The Napa County Coroner's Office is expected to release her name after next of kin notification, the CHP said.
