4 Arrested by Napa Police in Halloween DUI Crackdown

Eleven people stopped during Halloween detail.

Napa County Law Enforcement Officers were out on Halloween, Oct. 31, looking for DUI drivers.

The officers were participating in the AVOID the 9 Napa County DUI Task Force, which is a grant funded by OTS.

Six Officers worked this operation from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., resulting in 60 vehicle stops in various cities and areas throughout Napa County.

During these vehicle stops, officers noticed 11 of the drivers displayed symptoms of alcohol or drug use. The 11 drivers were evaluated and four of them were arrested for DUI related violations.

Additionally, two drivers were driving with a suspended license and their vehicles were towed and impounded for 30 days.

Two other motorists were taken into custody for misdemeanor arrest warrants.

Of note, Jeremy Castro, 25, of Vallejo, was contacted during a traffic stop.

A records check revealed he had a felony warrant with s $260,000 bail. Castro was placed under arrest and booked at Napa County Department of Correction.

Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
