21-Year-Old Napa Man Arrested in Connection with Downtown Napa Fight

3 men seriously hurt after May 18 incident.

A 21-year-old Napa man was arrested June 4 in connection with a fight May 18 in downtown Napa.

Juan Angel Cortez was taken into custody on a warrant following a probe  of the incident by the Napa Police Special Enforcement Unit.

 On May 18 just before 2 a.m., Napa Police Department units responded to a reported fight with multiple people involved in the area of the 2nd Street Garage.

Three adult males sustained serious injuries consisting of stab wounds during the fight. It was determined that prior to the fight in the area of the parking garage, those responsible and the victims were at Bistro Sabor on First Street.

The case was investigated by the Napa Police Department Special Enforcement Unit and information was developed concerning possible suspects..

On June 4, an arrest warrant was issued for Cortez in connection with the incident and he was later arrested at his residence in the 2200 block of Ethel Porter Drive. 

Cortez was transported to NCDC and booked without incident.
