21-Year-Old Napa Man Arrested After Police Allege He Was Carrying Stolen, Loaded Gun

Man also held on suspicion of possession of suspected marijuana, cocaine.

A 21-year-old Napa man was arrested at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday on suspicion of having a stolen, loaded handgun and was in possession of suspected marijuana and cocaine.

Travis Alexander Partida was taken into custody at the 3600 block of Diablo Avenue in Napa on multiple charges relating to the gun and the drugs.

According to the police log, an officer contacted the driver, later identified as Partida, of a pickup truck for driving at an excessive rate of speed in the 3600 block of Diablo Avenue.

As the officer spoke with Partida, he allegedly could smell an odor of marijuana coming from within the pickup truck. The officer had Partida exit his vehicle, at which time Partida was searched by the officer.

The search of Partida allegedly resulted in the officer finding a handgun magazine containing numerous 9mm rounds of live ammunition. Officers searched Partida’s vehicle and allegedly found a loaded 9mm handgun in the bed of the pick-up.

A records check revealed the handgun was reported stolen out of Vacaville.

Officers allegedly located a plastic vial containing suspected marijuana in a compartment of the driver’s door. In this same area, officers found packaging material that contained suspected cocaine.

Partida was arrested on the charges below. A records check on Partida showed he was an ex-felon. Partida was transported and booked into Napa County Department of Corrections.
