2 Arrested in Napa DUI Sting

Two other motorists were cited for allegedly driving on a suspended license.

Authorities in Napa County made two arrests on suspicion of DUI on Saturday amid a countywide sting, police said.

Two other motorists were cited for allegedly driving on a suspended license, Napa Valley Police Department Sgt. Brian Campagna said.

The arrests were made as authorities conducted a Winter Mobilization Holiday Campaign involving officers from the Napa, Calistoga, St. Helena and American Canyon police departments and the Napa County Sheriff's Department.

The sting was part of an "Avoid the 9" campaign funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Six officers working the operation from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. stopped 55 vehicles, Campagna said.

The California Highway Patrol will deploying all available officers for their Maximum Enforcement Period during the New Year’s holiday period from 6 p.m. on New Year's Eve through midnight on New Year's Day, Campagna said.
