17 Cited, 1 Arrested at Napa-Area DUI, Driver's License Checkpoint

Driver's license checks resulted in 17 citations.


 

Napa County Law Enforcement Officers cited 17 drivers and arrested one in a  a DUI and Driver’s License Checkpoint on Friday night.

Of those, 13 motorists were cited for driving without a license and four for driving with a suspended license. Their vehicles were towed and impounded.

The one arrest was on suspicion of DUI.

The officers were participating in the AVOID the 9 Task Force which is on a grant funded by California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Eight police officers and two community service officers worked this operation from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. in the 100 block of W. American Canyon Rd. in American Canyon.

During the operation, 824 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, police said.
