Update: Man Arrested on Drunken Driving Charges in Fatal Accident

Crash that left a Saint Helena woman dead and two others injured happened around 4 a.m. just south of Calistoga.

A Lower Lake man was arrested Saturday morning after a Napa County crash that killed a Saint Helena woman and injured two others, according to the California Highway Patrol. 

  Bobby Recinos, 21, was driving south on state Highway 29 just after 4 a.m. near Tucker Road, just south of Calistoga, when he failed to make a turn and went off the road, according to the CHP. 

  Evidence indicates he was speeding at the time and struck a tree, causing major damage to the 2006 Dodge Charger he was driving, CHP officials said.

  A female passenger sitting in the right front passenger seat who was not wearing a seat belt was declared dead at the scene, according to the CHP.

  A Napa woman in the car suffered moderate injuries, while a Saint Helena man suffered major injuries. Both were in the back seat and were wearing seat belts, according to the CHP.

  Recinos suffered minor injuries. He was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, causing injury to another, according to the CHP.

  The name of the deceased passenger has been withheld pending notification of next of kin, according to the CHP.
