1 Arrested for DUI, 14 Other Drivers Penalized for License Violations

A total of 430 vehicles passed through Napa County-area checkpoint Friday evening.

Napa County Law Enforcement Officers conducted a DUI and Driver’s License Checkpoint on Aug. 16.

The officers were participating in the AVOID the 9 which is a grant funded by OTS.

Eight officers and two community service officers worked this operation from 6 p.m.-12 am. During the operation, 430 vehicles passed through the checkpoint. This resulted in seven drivers being evaluated for driving under the influence of alcohol. Subsequently, one of these drivers was arrested for DUI.

 Additionally, four motorists were driving with a suspended license and their vehicles were towed and impounded for 30 days. Ten other drivers were cited for driving without a valid driver’s license.
