Where to Buy a Christmas Tree

Top tree lots in Napa, according to Patch readers on Facebook.

Art Morris and Nicole O'Hara both gave Steve's a thumbs-up, with O'Hara adding that the lot is donating 10 percent of sales to .

But the longtime lot has some serious competition nearby from , the local animal rescue organization, which is selling trees and wreaths daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Dec. 20 in the parking lot at on Jefferson Street.

Animal lovers Elizabeth Skylar, Vanissa Struven, Hannah Euser and Leslie Hyde all said they prefer the WT&F lot, which uses its proceeds for animal adoption and care.

Farther afield, tne Facebook user recommended a lot south of Napa, on Stanly Lane, while on Twitter we received a tweet about Peterson's Tree Farm on Darms Lane, Upvalley.

For those who prefer to choose and cut their own trees, Morris on Facebook recommended "Moon Mountain in Sonoma, where you can walk up in this little canyon, pull the tag off and they go and cut it and bring it back to you while you suck down hot chocolate or cider."
