Napa Parks and Recreation has done a wonderful job teaming up with Mad Science, Surfer Math and other camps to offer a variety of enrichment classes this summer. My 8 year old son participated in some of these last year and they were a wonderful experience for him. Even better, most of these are offered at Redwood Jr. High in conjunction with their camp SPF making a cohesive full day program. Best of all is their staff; super caring, inviting, and organized! A perfect solution for working parents.

Great tip, Julie! Thanks for jumping in with a shout-out. I want to send one out too, to Thea Witsil from Wildcat Vintage Clothing, for yet another terrific First Friday art and music party. This woman knows how to throw a cool event, and now she's working on the bands for Porchfest! Way to GO, Thea. Thank you for everything.

I'd like to acknowledge Frank Family Vineyards for installing a beautiful white fence along their vineyard property on the east/uphill side of Silverado Trail between Mumm and Conn Creek. Not sure they NEEDED to do this -- there was an old post & wire fence there already. The new fence really spiffs-up that section of the Trail, makes the red rosebushes "pop" with color, and makes me smile every time I drive by. Thank you!
