Napa Cook Takes Gilroy Gold

Napa Patch food columnist Jamie Brown Miller was judged top chef at this year's Gilroy Garllic Festival.

It started with 280 recipes submitted from around the country, narrowed down to 20 kitchen-tested submissions and, at last, the final eight bound for battle at the Stage.

After the heat hit the pan, it was Napa’s who took home $1,000 and top honors with her “Stacked Steak Napoleon” during Saturday’s competition.

Miller, the popular food and cooking columnist for Napa Patch, is on a roll this summer: She also won the cooking competition at the last month.

With his “Spicey Tuna Towers with Garlic 3 Ways,” Derick Thurman from Charlotte, North Carolina, received third place in the competition.
