Gallery: Napa Valley Cyclists Roll with Team Rwanda Members

More than 100 local cyclists gathered Sunday for a 40-mile bike ride with two members of Rwanda's Olympic cycling team, and Napa Valley Patch reader Peggy Darnell was there with her camera.

There was a lot of happy excitement Sunday as more than l00 cyclists gathered at Clif Family Winery's Velo Vino in St. Helena to join Team Rwanda cyclists Rafiki Uwimana and Obed Ruvogera for a 40-mile round-trip ride to Calistofa.

The Rwandan cyclists visiting the Napa Valley are part of the team chronicled in the Napa Valley Film Festival documentary Rising from Ashes. They were joined by cyclists from the Eagle Cycling Club, Napa Bicycle Coalition and others.

Sunday's ride through the autumn array of color became an adventurous time to share the joy of cycling, no matter where one lives; and triumphs, regardless of their circumstances.
