Forbes Gives Shout-Out to Luxe Napa
Business leaders and high rollers now have a handy guide to their Napa Valley splurge
Napa has consistently made the pages of travel magazines and lifestyle lists over the years, as Napans are all too aware. To Conde Nast, Gayot.com and even AAA Via, we can add that Bible of the business community, Forbes.
The online side of the print magazine has just published "A Brief and Opinionated Guide to the Napa Valley," by New York City writer Ann Abel. Her "Worthy Splurge" column this week lists an "eco-chic hotel" (Bardessono, Yountville), a "fave for a casual lunch" (Cook, St. Helena) and other recommendations, from Calistoga to Napa (Fagiani's Bar at the Thomas).

Our favorite? Her "Down and dirty experience," at Calistoga's Indian Springs Resort, of course. " Check your modesty and squeamishness at the door for the funky, old-timey volcanic ash mud baths," she writes. "You disrobe and ungracefully slither into a tub of hot black mud so thick you have to force yourself through it…" Tasty.
More of her worthy splurge list and comments are found at Forbes online. Shocking full disclosure: "Several of these establishments hosted my visits."
