Halloween is no longer the exclusive domain of pint-sized trick-or-treaters. Napa County's love for pets of all shapes and sizes, as evidenced by the response to our Cutest Dog Contest, has plenty of pet owners getting their four-legged pals into the Halloween spirit as well.

Dressing your pet up in a Halloween costume means BIG business for retailers, as consumers are expected to spend a record $310 million this year on pet costumes, according to a recent National Retail Federation survey.

Here at Patch, we embrace all pets, and want to see what costume your pet will be sporting for Halloween. We want to see those pets in costume, so post your photos and you could win a $50 gift card!

You have until Oct. 31 to upload the best photo of your pet in costume. (If you want some amazing ideas, check out the Best Pet Halloween Costume Contest in Marin entries).

Here’s how to enter:

  • Simply click the green "Upload Your Photos and Videos" button above and upload your image (but first make sure you’re a registered Patch user).
  • In the caption, let us know the name of your pet and all the details about the costume. We’d also love to know what town you live in and any other information you think we should know.

Patch editors will choose our 10 favorite pictures, and then you, the reader, can vote for the winner in the comments section of an article that will be posted on Nov. 1. We will be taking your votes through 9 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 5.

The winner will receive a $50 gift card to a local business of their choice.

And don't forget that we have a $5,000 grand prize in our national Best Halloween Costume in America contest!
