News10 in Sacramento has caught California Supreme Court Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakuye in the act of using the California Highway Patrol as a personal taxi and security service at taxpayer expense.

Former 3rd District Court of Appeal Justice Arthur Scotland also is caught on camera in a baldfaced lie attempting to cover for Cantil-Sakauye - his former colleague from both Sacramento County Superior Court and the Third District Appellate Court.

Scotland previously was caught giving dishonest testimony while under oath at the Commission on Judicial Performance misconduct prosecution of controversial Sacramento Family Court Judge Peter McBrien. Scotland falsely testified that his long-time friend and coworker Pete McBrien had a lower-than-average court of appeal reversal rate.

Scotland’s testimony in defense of McBrien was cited by the CJP as a mitigating factor that reduced McBrien’s ultimate punishment, allowing him to remain on the bench.

After his retirement, Scotland also admitted breaking state law by practicing law without a license before he became a judge. Click here to view Scotland’s confession. For more about corruption, collusion and conflicts of interest at the 3rd District Court of Appeal, click here.

The Chief Justice has done nothing that many other justices and politicians have done. Does anyone expect the Chief Justice to go around without security in this day and age of "nut cases" shooting anything that strikes their fancy? Cohen wrote this article intending to paint the Chief Justice in as poor a light as possible. Her editors should put a neck chain on her before she runs further afield espousing her personal agenda as "news". And, what does the Scotland mess have to do with anything? It was Cohen's effort to bolster her attack with irrelevant material.

Are you a sockpuppet? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sockpuppet_(Internet) Or are you the inactive lawyer, Jimmy Roland Wagner? http://members.calbar.ca.gov/fal/Member/Detail/44381 Either way, I love your use of the classic teenage rationalization: "But mom, everybody does it." Have you used that in court too?
