OBITUARY: James L. Barrett of Chateau Montelena in Calistoga
Napa Valley wine pioneer dies at 86.
The father of the historic Chateau Montelena Winery in Calistoga has died.
James L. Barrett, considered a pioneer in the Napa Valley wine community, died Thursday at 86, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Chateau Montelena, which was just named to the National Register of Historic is one of the wineries included in the upcoming Historic Napa Valley Wineries Tour.
