NVOS porcelain, tile, and steel artist, Leo Peck

By NVOS artist Davina Rubin

NVOS Artist Leo Peck
creates hand made ceramic tiles, porcelain for light fixtures, and sculptures clay for other tile projects. He hand carves and/or etches porcelain to achieve translucency in the clay. The tile is then mounted on a custom steel housing.

Leo is inspired by the idea of creating something new – geometric designs, or designs from nature – and making it functional so people can enjoy living with it.

What is unique about his work is that the porcelain is made thin enough for light to show through. It is glazed in a high gloss glaze, then sand blasted. He has received many commissions for his work.

When you come to his studio you will see works in progress, equipment setups, and tools of the trade.

You'll find Leo Peck at Studio #22, 1065 Los Carneros Avenue, in Napa, California. And you can find his artwork online, at www.pecktile.com.

Artist, writer and actress Davina Rubin uses acrylics and mixed media to create abstract works on both canvas and paper.  She paints in her small loft in Napa, and writes a philosophic blog atwww.davinarubin.com. You can also see some of her artwork at www.davinarubinart.weebly.com, and you can visit her at Studio # 42 during Napa Valley Open Studios.
