NVOS painter in oils and pastels, Beverly Wilson

By NVOS artist Karen Lynn Ingalls

NVOS artist Beverly Wilson
seeks to capture, through her work, the beauty and richness of everyday rural life. With her personal collection of colors and bold painting style, she aims to create a vibrancy which turns an ordinary moment into the extraordinary.

A student of Richard Diebenkorn at UCLA during the early 1970s, Beverly found inspiration in the work of the expressionists and colorists, and her work evolved from there into her own delightful, characteristic style.

Today, Beverly finds her inspiration in the dramatic changes of the seasons, in the temperature, in the light. Her focus has been a theme of agriculture; she is fascinated by the process of working the land by hand.

Recent noteworthy accomplishments include a solo exhibition at the Bakersfield Museum and being chosen as the featured artist at the La Quinta Art Festival. During the month of December, you will also be able to see her artwork at the Jessel Gallery, 1019 Atlas Peak Road, in Napa, California.

Beverly's home/studio is a creative, distinctive space nestled among the vineyards of the Napa foothills. During Open Studios, she shares her process with visitors by showing works in progress as well as finished paintings. You can see them, and meet Beverly, at Studio #30, 1044 La Londe Lane, #B, in Napa, California.
