Life, Art of Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo Presented Thursday at Rancho Gordo

Part of proceeds of sales during the event will benefit LEGACY Youth Project.


A special presentation on the life and art of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo will take place at the Rancho Gordo store in Napa on Thursday, Dec. 12.

The presentation, from 5 to 7 p.m at the store at 1924 Yajome St., is the finale of Rancho Gordo's all-day holiday open house from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Admission to the open house and the presentation is free.

The holiday open house is to commemorate the Day of the Virgen de Guadalupe.

A percentage of store sales during the event will be donated to the LEGACY Youth Project a local group that is dedicated to empowering “at-risk” youth and promoting higher education.

The presentation on Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo will be given by Tom Fraley, a retired community college instructor and photographer.

He has presented at numerous colleges and museums throughout California, including Stanford University. He has also served in the boards of the San Francisco Arts Commission and the San Francisco Mexican Museum.

Fraley holds an M.A. in Education, and a B.A. in Sociology with minors in Anthropology and Journalism.

Students from Napa’s LEGACY Youth Project will be available to take donations during the special presentation and will share information about their program.
