Fireworks Spark Awe for Napa's Fourth of July

Spectacular fireworks thrilled crowds Thursday at the Napa River.

"It's a perfect night," said Jim Brandt, owner of Napa General Store, who hosted about 60 people on the patio of his Napa Riverfront restaurant and shop. "This is our 12th year doing this."

A block north at Veteran's Park and along the Third Street Bridge, hundreds of people looked skyward for the show.

Earlier, the band Notorious entertained the crowds until it was dark enough for the sparkling lights at about 9:30 p.m.

The city of Napa's "Fourth of July Spectacular" also featured food booths, a street fair and games for the kids.
