Napa Soroptimists Seek Women's Award Applicants

Applications for "Women's Opportunity Award" due by Dec. 15.

Soroptimist International of Napa is seeking women for their annual Women’s Opportunity Award, which helps women reclaim their dream for a better life for themselves and their family.

Recipients are honored and receive a cash award to support their goals in changing their life. To qualify for the Women’s Opportunity Award, applicants must be head-of-household, have financial need and be enrolled in college or a trade school. 

Applications with reference letters are by Dec. 15.  To obtain an application, you can stop by Northwest Insurance at 1754 2nd St. in downtown Napa.  For further information, call Carol Smith at 707-360-4312 or email: SINapa@Soroptimist.net.

Soroptimist means best for women, and Soroptimist International of Napa is one club in part of the world-wide organization of Soroptimist.

Annually, Soroptimist, the overall organization, gives out $1.5 million helping women to leave lives of poverty, domestic violence and substance abuse.  The program is Soroptimist’ s major service project helping determined women change their lives.

Soroptimist International of Napa, celebrating its 75th year, is made up of fun business and professional women dedicated to changing the lives socially and economically of women and girls, locally and throughout the world.
