Yeeks! We've Got Yurts at Bothe State Park

Volunteer help needed for yurt placement starting Friday; installation starting Monday.

Once a vision and a dream, Yurtville is now becoming a reality at Bothe State Park.

Volunteers are needed at each stage of the installation, which starts tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 8, said Chino Yip, of the Napa County Regional Park and Open Space District.

"The State Parks and the Fire Marshall have signed off on the yurt installations at Bothe," Yip said Thursday. "A little brush clearance around each site will be needed and the yurt fabric will have to be treated with fire

retardant after being installed.

"There are seven more yurts to be installed that are in storage," he added. "This will be a two-part process -- and this is where we need help."

Yip said the first step is pulling the yurts out of storage and placing them
at each yurt site. That process is  scheduled for Friday, Feb. 8.

"If you can spare a couple of hours, meet at the visitor
center just past the kiosk at Bothe at 9 a.m.," Yip said. "Please contact me if
interested. Email cyip@ncrposd.org or phone 707 337-3885."

His office is at 1195 Third St., Suite 210, Napa.

Yip said the second step is the actual installation of yurts. That process will start
on Monday, Feb. 11 (same place and same time).

"This project will take several hours with guidance from Rob and Eric," Yip said. "For anyone who is planning to put a yurt up in the future--you've got to come out to Bothe for this.

"This is a chance to get hands-on experience from start to finish with Eric and Rob," Yip added. "Being such a valuable learning experience, this project should really be labeled 'Yurt Installation 101' and require a  registration fee but hey, what are friends for right?"

Yip that there were still spaces available for a camping trip at Moore Creek, Feb 16-17.

"Should be great weather to walk up the canyon," he said. "Still beds available in bunk room. Contact me by 2/14."

Why do the Hispanics need their own Chamber Of Commerce? Asians, African-Americans, Caucasians,Read More Indians, and all other races use the same Chamber Of Commerce in unity. The Hispanics are welcome to use it as well. Unless they're promoting their own race above others in the business community. Naw, they wouldn't do anything racist like that, would they?
