Signups are now being taken for two new volunteer orientation and training sessions at Wildlife Rescue of Napa County.
Michelle Anderson, newly named Songbird Administrator for Wildlife Rescue, said the sessions will be held:
--Saturday, March 30, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Napa City-County Library, 580 Coombs St., Napa.
--Sunday, April 14, from 12 to 2:30 p.m., Yountville Veterans Home, 100 California Drive, Yountville.
To RSVP for signups, email email@example.com, or call 707-224-HAWK (4295).
Anderson said the sessions will prepare volunteers for this year's Songbird Clininc and baby bird rescue, which runs from mid-April to September -- or until all the babies have been raised and released back to the wild.
"We are a volunteer-based organization dedicated to the rehabilitative care of injured, ill, or orphaned wildlife in Napa County," Anderson said. "We are currently at a critical need for volunteers, which are needed to help feed and care for the many baby birds in our care."
Anderson said the program is "a wonderful opportunity to give back to nature by helping us to care for these very special wildlife patients."
