Reception for April's Exhibit & Slideshow/Talk

The Letterpress Poetry Broadsides of Theresa Whitehill

A broadside is a single, unfolded, limited-edition print that has literary content. Theresa Whitehill combines her poetry and chosen images to make broadsides that are printed on an antique letterpress. Whitehill is a highly regarded published poet, scholar, and letterpress printer. She divides her time between Ukiah, where she served as Poet Laureate in 2009–2011, and St. Helena, where she maintains Colored Horse Studios. She is married to artist Paulo Ferreira. To see more about Whitehill, visit www.coloredhorse.com.

During the slideshow and talk following the reception, the artist will explain the art of making broadsides using her own work as examples.
