Photographer William Helsel featured in Sept Art in the Library

William Helsel will display his work throughout September at the Napa County Library.  An artist’s reception will be held on Friday, September 13, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Napa Main Library, 580 Coombs Street in Napa. The reception includes refreshments and a presentation at 6:30 p.m. by the artist.

William Helsel has been an architectural photographer for 35 years, photographing both urban and rural landscapes. In 2000 he began working with black and white infrared film appreciating its unique characteristics. He processes and prints all his work. The prints are carefully processed in a wet darkroom on traditional fiber-based silver gelatin photographic paper. His work has been published in numerous travel and architectural publications worldwide.

The Art in the Library program is a juried competition with artists competing in various media.  Selected artists exhibit their work at the Library for one month. Artists present a program to the community at the art reception held on the second Friday of the month.  For more information about the Art in the Library program, contact Stephnia Pramuk at (707) 253-4223 or e-mail at stephnia.pramuk@countyofnapa.org.
