Miracle

This is the inspiring true story of one of the greatest moments in sports history, called the Miracle on Ice. It is 1980 in Lake Placid, New York, site of the Winter Olympics. The last time the United States has won a gold medal in ice hockey was in 1960. The US underdog team, a bunch of college players who have never played together before, must go up against the heavily favored Soviet team. Their win allows them to go on to beat Finland and Get the Gold. Coach Herb Brooks is played by Kurt Russell, supported by a small cast of seasoned actors. The ice hockey players are all experienced players, making this movie full of real-life hockey action and suspense. Produced at Walt Disney Pictures, the movie was directed by Gavin O’Conner. 2004; 136 minutes.
