Focus on Film: Biutiful

In honor of Latino Heritage Month, Focus on Film is screening the recent Oscar Nominees and Winner for Best Foreign Films from Latin America.  This week’s film is Biutiful.  Diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer, Uxbal (Javier Bardem), a divorced father raising two children, is determined to atone for his life as a black marketeer in this engrossing character study that unfolds in the slums of Barcelona, Spain.  In Spanish with English subtitles.  2010; 147 minutes.
