For more than 100 years, Napa City was a hub of industry. We manufactured boots, boxes, Basalite concrete, and everything in between. Perhaps the biggest was the Basalt, Kaiser Steel, Napa Pipe, and Trans Bay industrial complex south of town. For eighty years, the property produced some of the finest quality concrete, rip raps, barges, oil platforms, and pipe products in the world. This exhibit sheds light on the fascinating yet little-known history of Napa's world-renowned industrial complex.
This exhibit will open on Tuesday, May 6th and will remain open for viewing through June, Tuesday-Saturday, 12-4pm in the Goodman Library, 1219 First Street, Napa.
