Michael Gold bass, Larry Ham piano, Tim Pleasant drums, Dave Sills tenor sax Jazz Impact is a classic jazz quartet composed of four of the finest sideman on the jazz scene coast to coast.
Bassist Dr. Michael Gold is the founder of Jazz Impact. Together with New York City pianist Larry Ham, about whom Mike Neely in All About Jazz wrote "...a pianist well on his way to becoming a master," Tim Pleasant, first call session drummer in the LA jazz scene and Dave Sills, whom the LA Times describes as “a meeting of Stan Getz and Joe Henderson, a style in which smooth reserve and technical ability combine in a single cool-to-the-bone sound," they travel the world using the dynamics of the jazz ensemble to help organizations learn to build collaboration and sustainability.
Following an engagement with the State of California in San Francisco, they come to Silos just to stretch out, swing hard and enjoy playing together.
This unusual quartet brings a combined total of over one hundred years of experience touring and recording with such jazz greats as Lee Konitz, Al Cohn, the Lionel Hampton Orchestra, the Illinois Jacquet Big Band, Tal Farlow, Sheila Jordan, Jon Hendricks, Warne Marsh, Sal Mosca, Jakie Byard, Johnny Ray, Charles McPherson, George Coleman and Larry Coryell.
It’s always a treat to encounter such a fine quartet in an intimate setting like Silos. Don’t miss it!!
