Elaine Lucia writes songs that lie somewhere between modern jazz infused with folk...or is it indie folk that's infused with jazz? Think of Astrud Gilberto meeting Joni Mitchell. Or k d lang meeting Brandi Carlile. And then introduce Elaine's one-of-a-kind, crystal clear voice. Now you've got something really very special. It's a beautiful blend of gorgeous melodies, soulful and thoughtful lyrics, and a stellar band of veteran Bay Area musicians supporting all with lush harmonic structure and heartfelt rhythms.

Elaine Lucia has been performing her unique jazz repertoire throughout the Bay Area for over 20 years. During that time she has garnered five-star reviews for each of her three nationally released album projects and hundreds of live shows.

The new band, The Elaine Lucia Group, began as an informal weekly jam session among musicians who had all, at one time or another through the years, performed with Elaine in those various jazz combos. When they discovered in conversation that she had written a catalog of original songs that she had never performed live on stage, they invited her to bring her sheet music to their next get-together. Shy at first to play her compositions for seasoned jazz musicians, Elaine did show up, charts in hand, and from that very first session the sound coalesced into the unique and beautiful sound you'll hear at Silo's on Saturday, February 2.

If you've heard her recordings or seen her perform before, you know that Elaine is a consummate entertainer; the stage is her home, and has been since she was twelve years old. The Elaine Lucia Group is Elaine like you've never heard her before, playing guitar, telling stories, and singing songs straight from her heart to yours. With an outstanding band of musicians from the jazz, pop and folk genres, Elaine's unique and expressive voice will move you with her deeply felt, thoughtful lyrics and gorgeous melodies.
