Girls on the Run 5k Napa Valley: This family friendly event is a Girls on the Run fund raiser that is open to WHOLE Community: all boys, girls, women and men who want to run, walk, hula hoop or cartwheel their way to the finish line of a 5k (3.1 mile) fun run. Walkers & Runners will join 240 Napa County Girls ages 8 to 13 complete one of their season end goals (MOVE IT for 3.1 miles). Teams of friends, co-workers, church clubs or walking groups are also welcome to participate and fund raise.
DATE and TIME: Saturday, November 10: 9AM Fun Run start. Post event booths, Zumba and Jumpy House until 11:00 a.m.
Registration: $25 pre run day and $30 on run day at www.gotrnapavalley.org/5kEvent
Goodies: T-shirts, water bottles & Luna bars for all participants. $500 worth of prizes from ToyBVille, Downtown Joes, and Napa Running (need to be present to win).
- 5k: Medals given to all GOTR, GOT & children (under 13 yrs)
- Awards 1-3 overall male & female at finish line
Girls on the Run Napa Valley is a non-profit organization that inspires 500 young girls (with 75% low income and 63% Latina girls) to be confident, healthy and joyful while preparing to complete a community service project and a 5k run. GOTR is a lot more than a running program, it is an empowerment program that creatively combines fun, experiential life skill lessons with fun activities and running for girls in 3rd-8th grade.
