Concert: Los Gu'achis

The Los Gu’achis band plays music formerly played by members of Arizona’s Tohono O’odham (Desert People). Playing violin, accordion, guitar, and bass, the band plays an eclectic blend of songs dating from as far back as 16th-century Spanish missionaries, the Southwest, Native America, Los Californios (early California), Mexico, and Europe. After listening to recordings preserved on wax cylinders, the Los Gu’achis band has brought this music back for all to enjoy. This unique musical experience will deepen your knowledge of our musical heritage.
