THEATER IN CALISTOGA

The comedy 'Almost, Maine' by John Cariani and directed by Sharie Renault, performed in Calistoga this weekend and next weekend.

This weekend and next weekend The Calistoga Players will perform the comedy, Almost, Maine by John Cariani and directed by Sharie Renault. Friday and Saturday nights at 8pm and Sundays at 5pm. At the Cropp Building, 1435 North Oak Street, Fairgrounds in Calistoga. Tickets ($20) on line at Calistogaartcenter.org or at the door.

The people of Almost, Maine, are like most people: confused about love and relationships.  From falling in love at first sight, to dealing with commitment in a relationship, to holding on to old loves, to falling out of love, and to coming out, are a few of the challenges they meet and have to deal with; all in unexpected and often hilarious ways.  Directed by Sharie Renault – a long time resident of Calistoga and a highly qualified and talented director – the characters spring to life in her capable hands. This play has been performed hundreds of times throughout the country, and here is what the reviewers are saying:

The New York Times writes: “…a whimsical approach to the joys and perils of romance.  Magical happenings bloom beneath the snowdrifts.”
