Stockton Men Arrested on Suspicion of Cell Phone Robbery; Fugitive Friday Update

Two Stockton men were arrested in Napa on Thursday evening after they allegedly attempted to steal a cell phone from a girl.

According to police, Joseph Ladray Clark Jr., 38, and Rodney Lancaster, 21, called out to the girl, who was walking with a friend along the 1600 block of Lincoln Avenue.

The girls ignored the men, who were driving a 1989 Buick with Nevada plates. Clark then got out of the vehicle and allegedly grabbed her, and took her cell phone from her back pocket.

Police say the girl fought back, and pulled some of Clark’s hair before the men fled the scene, according to the police report.

Napa County Sheriffs later located the ‘89 Buick at the intersection of Jefferson and Polk streets. Clark was arrested on suspicion of robbery, receiving known stolen property, conspiracy to commit crime and willful cruelty to a child. Lancaster was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit a crime.

FUGITIVE FRIDAY UPDATE

In a separate incident, officers arrested 27-year-old Shawn Michael Metoxen, of Stockton, on three drug related warrants for his arrests and suspicion of a narcotic controlled substance. Metoxen was featured in Napa Valley Patch's Fugitive Friday feature last week.

Police responded to a report of a suspicious red Chevrolet pick-up truck near Colina Court. The registration showed the vehicle belong to Metoxen, and the warrants for his arrest appeared in a records check.

Metoxen was stopped on Spruce Street, and a search of his vehicle, according to police, revealed suspected heroin, methamphetamine, and methadone. Metoxen was booked into Napa County Department of Corrections facility.
