Ribbon Cut On Napa's New Downtown Boat Dock

About 150 people attend ribbon cutting ceremonies.

With a snip of giant scissors, Napa Mayor Jill Techel cut the ribbon Wednesday evening for a gleaming new boat dock on the Napa River just south of the Third Street Bridge.

Techel and Napa City Council members joined with Friends of the Napa River members and about 150 onlookers to celebrate the new $1.5 million dock, which many said will be a great enhancement to the city's revitalizing downtown.

To illustrate that point, the Mayor, City Council and the Friends group all arrived by boat for the ceremonies.

Numerous kayakers and a few other boat riders also gathered at the dock.
