A 31-year-old Napa man was arrested Sunday evening on suspicion of resisting arrest and violating his probation.
Rogelio Cervantes Jr. was taken into custody after Napa Police received reports of a subject running into traffic and throwing objects at passing cars near Jefferson Street and Old Sonoma Road. According to the report, officers tried to speak to Cervantes, who then tried to fight them, thought better of it and ran away. Unfortunately for Cervantes, he did so into the path of other officers responding to the call.
Cervantes was arrested after a brief struggle and booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections.
In a separate incident, Napa Police arrested Leif Johnson Dodson, 46, of Napa, after serving warrants for his arrest at his home on the 2100 block of Redwood Road.A search of his residence returned a small amount of methamphetamine and a smoking pipe. According to police, the contraband was accessible by a 13-year-old child who was present during the search.
Dodson was taken to Napa County Department of Corrections facility on suspicion of willful cruelty to a child, possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia.
