Zombie Blog: The Earthquake

First chapter of the fictional 2012 Zombie Pandemic: Little do we know there are more sinister things to fear than earthquakes.

***This is FICTION. This earthquake and zombies aren’t real,
but the emergency preparedness and flu prevention messages are.***

What a crazy morning!  I was refilling my coffee when the whole room started shaking at 10:18AM and right away I dropped to the floor, took cover under the break room table and held on for dear life!  The only casualty was my favorite mug. :(

If that was “only” 5.0 magnitude on the Concord Fault it really makes you think about the potential for destruction a stronger and/or closer earthquake could do.  Imagine if we had a “big one” on the West Napa Fault.  Yikes!  This time there were only a few minor injuries in Napa County, but some people weren’t so lucky in Solano County…

This is a good reminder get prepared NOW!  Tonight I’m going to talk to my husband to brush up on our family emergency plan.  This weekend I’m going to restock our emergency supply kits.  It’s a good idea to have one at home, in the car and in the office.
