Video: Napa Chefs Hold Bake Sale for Japan at Oxbow Public Market

The hours have been extended for this sumptuous sale of sweet and savory treats, with plenty of stock on hand -- as you'll see in our mouthwatering video.

Today's Napa , which was to run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the , is now extending its hours throughout the day.

Organizer Tracy Bates, chef at the nearby Oxbow School, said Oxbow Public Market owner Steve Carlin invited the bake sale group to stay on through the rest of the market's operating hours.

At 1:30 p.m., the bake sale table was loaded with goodies -- cookies, pies, cakes, Chinese buns and even an onion tart -- from some 30 local chefs and bakers.

Among the businesses that donated treats were , , Cooking with Julie, Tante Marie's and the Oxbow School, all four of whose chefs have been baking all week for the event, Bates said.

The sale is taking place on the east side of the market hall, opposite . There's also a table for folding origami cranes: Bates said the Bezos Foundation would donate $2 per crane for Japan relief.

Funds from the bake sale will go to Peace Winds Japan, a non-governmental organization working in the areas affected by last month's earthquake and tsunami.
