"Taste of Summer" runs Mother's Day weekend, May 10 to 11. A portion of ticket sales will benefit Queen of the Valley Hospital.

The Meritage Resort and Spa in Napa is hosting "Taste the Lighter Side of  Summer" during its second annual First Blush event this Mother's Day Weekend, May 10 to 11.

Meritage has invited select California wineries to participate in its First Blush, with a tasting for guests of rosé, Sauvignon blanc, pinot noir, Rieslings and sparkling wines, plus a few beers from Napa Smith Brewery.

The tasting will be Saturday, May 10 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and a Mother’s Day Brunch is Sunday, May 11 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Taste the Lighter Side of Summer will be in the shade on the Vineyard Terrace, overlooking the resort’s Estate Cave, pool, cabanas, nine acres of hillside vineyards, and Napa’s iconic Grape Crusher Statue.

The Mother’s Day Brunch includes an artisanal local farm fresh cheese selection to antipasti display, smoked salmon and seafood display, in addition to full entrees from Crab Cake Benedict ‘Oscar’ to Butter Seared Fillet Mignon and Brioche Crème Brûlée French Toast.

Tickets for the Taste the Lighter Side of Summer event are available for $30, with a portion of each ticket benefitting Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa to support Breast Cancer awareness.

Mother’s Day Brunch is $54.95 per person, children 12 and under are $15.

A discount is available for guests who purchase tickets to both events in advance online through TheMeritageResort.com website ($25 for First Blush and $49 per person for brunch).
