Rutherford Grill Owner Plans Yountville Restaurant

The upcoming 6,000-square foot R+D Kitchen restaurant at the north end of Yountville will have indoor and outdoor seating for 137 customers, a koi pond and an outdoor bar. It's expected to open in March, 2013.

A new restaurant is coming to the north end of Yountville early next year: R+D Kitchen is expected to open March 2013 at Washington Square, an emerging business development at the corner of Washington and Madison streets.

The site was the home of the former Napa Valley Grille and a few retail stores, which were demolished: The current builder, Hillstone Restaurant Group, has started from the ground up.

Hillstone also owns Kelly’s Fuel & Provisions at the same intersection, where a former gas station closed two years ago. “We opened in October 2011," said operator Tim Kelly.
