After several delays, owners of the new Napkins Bar & Grill have finished the final touches just in time for a splashy, year-end opening on New Year's Eve Tuesday.

The new eatery, a sister restaurant of Tarla's Mediterranean Grill on First Street, is located at Second and Main streets in downtown Napa.

A grand opening ceremony and ribbon-cutting will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Napkins Facebook page.

Manager Adam White said there were two soft openings over this past weekend to get ready for the public on Tuesday.

He added that outdoor tables will be set up, but outdoor seating area rails will be removed for special events, such as parades -- a condition of the city of Napa.

Napkins is one of a slew of new eateries and renovated restaurants in downtown Napa.

Torc, at 1140 Main St., has already opened, with hours from 5-9:30 p.m. daily.

Two restaurants still under construction in downtown Napa are BurgerFi on First Street and a pizza restaurant on Main Street.

The latter pizza spot is a joint venture by Dan Sarao and Yountville City Councilman Lewis Chilton, Chilton said recently in an informal interview. Chilton, a candidate for Napa County Supervisor in the June 2014 primaries, already owns and operates the Yountville Deli and a deli on Solano Avenue in Napa.

Also, Fish Story restaurant at 790 Main St. (at Third) in downtown Napa has undergone a major transformation, including a new chef, new menu and other improvements, according to local sources.

If you'd like to check out these or other Napa Valley restaurants, now is a good time to do it --January is restaurant month in Napa Valley.
