Napa Diaper Entrepreneur Launches New Business

Bumrite Diapers proprietor Angela Powell is branching out with a new business in organic and non-toxic products for babies and children.

Building upon the online success of her cloth-diaper business, www.bumritediapers.com, Napa entrepreneur Angela Powell has launched a sister enterprise on the web, GreenKidsRoom.com.

Powell's new site specializes in "high quality, organic, non-toxic baby to juvenile toys, bedroom furniture, mattresses, bedding, diapers, no-waste lunch containers" and other family-friendly items, she said.

Launched at the beginning of November, GreenKidsRoom.com is a natural extension of the corporate philosophy behind Powell's diaper business, as she writes on the website:

We began by focusing our efforts to save our landfills, one diaper at a time, by sourcing and selling reusable cloth diapers (www.bumritediapers.com) to other families with kids the same age.

Since we opened BumRiteDiapers.com in Napa, CA, we've kept 15 million pounds of plastic out of our landfills, educated over7,500 households on the benefits of cloth diapering, and kept $13.5 million in our customers' wallets (vs. the $1,800 more that would have been spent on disposables).

As our children moved on from diapers, we needed quality furniture that would last until the pre-teens and remain in good condition to pass on to any siblings. Keeping true to our mission, we created GreenKidsRoom.com to support the use of environmentally friendly products for growing families like ours.

Reach Powell at (707) 646-1KID or online at either of her sites.
