Napa Bakery Makes Bon Appetit "Best Cakes" List

Congratulations to Alexis Baking Company on Third Street in downtown Napa: This popular bakery-café makes one of the "Best Cakes in America," according to BonAppetit.com. A slice of this, and you won't need coffee.

We're used to accolades in the Napa Valley: Seems our winemakers, chefs and foodie entrepreneurs are always winning prestigious awards and getting named to high-profile Top 10 lists.

But there's something extra-satisfying when the national foodie media shines the spotlight on a place many of us consider our neighborhood spot (and the source of those potato rolls served at some of our other favorite Napa Valley eateries).

So here's to Alexis Baking Company on Third Street in downtown Napa, which has just been named the maker of one of the "Best Cakes in America," as listed on BonAppetit.com.

"Simple flour, butter and sugar cake gets a killer caffeine jolt," raves the website, describing ABC's Blum's Coffee Crunch Cake.

ABC is in stellar company on the list published online by the famed Bon Appetit magazine.

Other "Best Cakes in America" bakers include Crixa in Berkeley, Miette in San Francisco and Macrina in Seattle.

Have you tried Blum's Coffee Crunch Cake at ABC? Think you might want to try it now? Tell us in the comments.

Why do the Hispanics need their own Chamber Of Commerce? Asians, African-Americans, Caucasians,Read More Indians, and all other races use the same Chamber Of Commerce in unity. The Hispanics are welcome to use it as well. Unless they're promoting their own race above others in the business community. Naw, they wouldn't do anything racist like that, would they?
