John Muir Inn Sold for $6.8 Million

The Napa Valley Register is reporting that hotelier Rick Swig is the new owner of the north Napa motel, which he plans to renovate and rename.

The in north Napa has been sold for $6.8 million to a local hotelier and consultant who plans to rename and "rebrand" the 60-room motel, according to a report in the .

New owner Rick Swig told the newspaper he will affiliate the "underperforming" property with the Choice Hotels chain as a Quality Inn, renaming it Napa Winery Inn.

Swig, who said he will spend another $1 million to renovate the inn, did not purchase the adjacent and listed for $3.3 million, according to the Register report.
