Is Lady Gaga Vineyard-Shopping?

A UK gossip rag reports the singer may buy a vineyard in our own back yard.

The rumor mill was busy last weekend during Lady Gaga's two-day tour through wine country, with stops in Sonoma, Napa and Geyserville. Sources and speculators had some thoughts on the larger-than-life singer's sudden presence: Perhaps she's looking for a house, or taking a reprieve from city living.

Add this to the list: The Sun, a UK-based gossip rag, reports that the singer was looking at vineyards in our area last week, and is toying with purchasing one as an investment.

According to the Sun, Gaga is "a foodie," who after several European tours has become increasingly interested in the production (and consumption) of red wine.

The Sun reports that Gaga is interested in purchasing a vineyard as her plan B, a business to run with boyfriend Taylor Kinney if her singing career falls short.

It's a toss-up how accurate this intelligence is (the tip comes from an "anonymous source.") It's also hard to envision Lady Gaga – with her record-breaking album sales, 20 million Twitter followers, and groundbreaking music videos (one of which held the record for most-viewed video of all time) – as needing a backup plan.

But, who's to argue with the romance of wine production, especially to those who know little about the mechanics of it?
