Happy Birthday, Domaine Chandon

The famed Napa Valley winery celebrated its 40th Anniversary over the weekend.

One of Yountville's most popular wineries celebrated its 40th anniversary over the weekend. Domaine Chandon was an experiment according to this feature story on KQED.

It started in 1977, when its French parent company Moet & Chandon took $22 million to open the Napa Valley winery and test if they could make a quality wine out of California grapes.

Forty years later, it has become one of the Valley's most elite wineries. Being the valley's first French-owned winery, Bastille took a special meaning at the winery over the weekend.

Take a look at our coverage of the fun in Yountville on Bastille Day.
