Fagiani's Returns to Main Street

The bar bearing his name has not yet opened, but Nicola Fagiani's neon sign is back on the front of the downtown Napa building his family owned for most of the 20th century. Are you glad to see it? Tell us in the comments.

The neon sign for Fagiani's is back in business on the front of the building now owned by Napan Steve Hasty.

The business itself — a restaurant called The Thomas and a bar called Fagiani's at the Thomas —is still under construction, but Michelin-starred chef Brad Farmerie is training kitchen staff now at the old Copia facility.

Click the "Keep me posted" button for updates on the new restaurant and bar in what was formerly downtown Napa's most notorious building, which was closed for business after the 1974 sexual assault and murder of co-owner Anita Andrews.

Fagiani's sign remained on the building for many more years until it became unstable and had to be taken down and placed inside the closed bar, where it could be seen on the floor by the curious who peeped through a dusty front window.

The new owners have restored it to its former place of prominence as the largest "blade" sign on the block.
