Duckhorn Winery Sues Duck Commander Wines

Duckhorn claims Duck Commander is cheapening their brand, says TMZ.com.

Wine wars have erupted in the Napa Valley.

Napa Valley's Duckhorn Wine Company is suing Duck Commander Wines.

The latter is the wine brand produced at St. Helena's Trinchero Family Estates winery in partnership with the stars of the reality TV show "Duck Dynasty," which recently has made worldwide headlines after one of the stars, Phil Robertson, was suspended for making comments about homosexuality.

According to TMZ.com, Duckhorn claims the lower-priced Duck Commander wines cheapen the brand for Duckhorn's high-end wines, which have been produced for a number of years.

Duck Commander Wines were just launched earlier this year at a party at Trinchero Estates.

"Duckhorn Wine Company claims in a lawsuit -- obtained by TMZ -- its expensive, ultra-premium wine brand -- which goes to nearly $100 a bottle --  is being diluted by Duck Commander's cheap, Walmart line of vino -- which goes for $9.99," TMZ.com reports.
